The coming event
CCPA is a non-profit, non-religious and non-political organization, aiming at the promulgation and promotion of Chinese Heritage in North America. Through musical performances and other artistic presentations, the organization has made important strives towards the popularization and appreciation of Chinese culture.
For the past several years, the members representing variety of groups have been invited to perform at many festivals and important events throughout the Chinese communities in the Chicagoland area. They have also given performances at the International Culture and Art Festival in Milwaukee, WI, for the past three consecutive years. Their high level performances have been well accepted by the audience.
In February 2003, CCPA presented a very successful concert in the celebration of the Chinese New Year. The performance included both western and traditional Chinese chorus works, solos, duets, musical instruments and dances.
Our concerts have included such major works as Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, Dein Brahms and other great composers.
Our chorus members are drawn from over 20 communities and come from all walks of life and professions. For some, music is their vocation as teachers and choir directors, but for many others it is their avocation, a way to enrich their lives by coming together with others who love to sing and perform.
CCPA is a group of about 60 singers/members. Many of them played leading roles in several Chinese chorus groups. Membership in CCPA is by invitation of the music director through a string of audition process. CCPA provides a variety of artistic performances appealing to people, who are interested in music from all occupations. The performances include opera singing, Chinese folk singing and dancing, piano and trumpet, and traditional Chinese musical instruments.
