   China Star Night on August 23, 2003

CCPA will give performance at the upcoming China Star Night on August 23, 2003 at the Hilton Hotel located at 720 S. Michigan Ave. Along with CCPA, other performers include China's most popular rock and roll star Mr. Zang Tian Shuo, and violinist Mr. Li Chuanyun.

CCPA will provide a variety of performances at the China Star Night event. These performances include opera singing, Chinese folk singing, piano and Peking Opera. The CCPA chorus will perform at the opening and the end of the concert. The chorus will sing six songs representing major works from the East and the West. The three songs at the opening performance are America the Beautiful, Me and My Motherland (a popular chinese song) and O Lord Most Holy (in Latin). The three songs at the closing performance are Farewell (a popular Chinese song in the 40's), Ti O O (a popular folk song from Taiwan in local dialect) and Wading Through the River, a famous Chinese folk song from Yun Nan province.

Through this and other upcoming performances, CCPA is committed to the promotion of Chinese Heritage and Culture in North America.
